1929–1953

1929

The founder and the first president, Motoji Kobayashi, opened Kobayashi Shoten, a fresh produce business, at Yanagibashi Central Market

1929 - Founded by Motoji Kobayashi
1933
Began research and production of powdered wasabi
1937

Developed the "Kanto-style Garnish Machine" and "Wasabi Drier" Branded the powdered wasabi as Kinjirushi Wasabi and Ginjirushi Wasabi

1937 - First sashimi garnish maker invented by Motoji Kobayashi
1940

Purchased a Western-style building in Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya (current site of KINJIRUSHI Wasabi Co., Ltd. Nagoya Factory) and established a wasabi factory
Began full-scale production of powdered wasabi using horseradish

1948
Opened the Osaka Agency (now Osaka Branch)
1949
Opened the Tokyo Agency (now Tokyo Branch)
1950

Registered its first trademark, "金" (Kin, or "Gold").
